There were a lot of extra hugs from Mommy and Daddy but still no smiles.

We finally did get a little bit of a smile from her...

In the end, it took Mommy AND Daddy and her faithful and true friend, BluePup, to share our courage and make it into the school and up the stairs. We saw Miss Patricia at the top of the stairs (one of K's teachers for the past two years) and Miss Magoo started to feel okay. In fact, it was Miss Patricia who walked K to her classroom while Mommy and Daddy finalized the paperwork. We joined her after a minute or two and she was doing just fine (although BluePup was still with her). We got her settled in her new cubby and she was seeing a lot of familiar faces in the room so I think that helped. We met her new teachers, Miss Valerie and Miss Samuelle, and caught up with Miss Jocelynne, her English teacher this year (and last year as well). When it was time for us to go, she gave me a great big hug. I asked her if this was the best class ever and she said, "YES!!!" and we knew she was going to have a good day.
Because she's in kindergarten, we don't have to walk her to her class anymore (read that as we don't get to walk her to her class anymore). We are supposed to just drive up to the front door and drop her off. The first day of Kindergarten was a little tough, seeing our little munchkin growing up so fast. But try driving up and having her be totally fine with popping off her seatbelt, jumping out of the car with a quick peck on the cheek and a 'Bye Daddy!" That's when you just want to pull into a parking spot and cry a few tears. She's had three great days at school and she's so proud of being such a big girl. But, if you pay close attention, you'll see that she's been taking her good buddy, BluePup with her every day. It's still nice to have a good friend close by.

Each night, K has been singing in French (she just makes up the songs but her accent is VERY good!). She sings and speaks French so she can practice for school. Yay! I think it's going to be a very good year.
