We had success!!! We decided to go out and try it again on a lake near our house. B would get the fish on the line and then let Katie reel it in. I only got one on and the little bugger flipped off just as I got to the surface. We decided to head in after a couple of hours, but Katie wanted to catch another fish. She gave it a cast as I dumped the last of our crackers out for "Qwackers" the duck that had followed us around all afternoon. B was stowing gear and Katie announced that she'd caught a fish. We didn't pay much attention as she'd been 'catching fish' all afternoon, but when we turned to stow her fishing pole, there it was flopping at the surface. She was over the moon excited at catching the fish all by herself. What a great way to end an afternoon of fishing. Except of course, for another trip to the tackle store for more gear!

The Avid Fisher-Bug
