Boise 2009/2010 and a visit from Clint's Crew!

We packed a lot into our time after Christmas. Clint and his family came for a visit and then we all went to Boise to visit family over there. It was a quick trip but we packed a lot in.

Thank you, Mary and Phil, for your hospitality. You make is so easy to stay with you. We had a couple of firsts on this trip: Thanks to Uncle Phil, Katie learned to play dominoes. In fact, she's a Domino Master. :)


She was so pleased when we got home and showed her our set of dominoes, although she wanted to make sure we weren't going to play the train dominoes! Next year maybe....

Lots of visiting with Mike's family too, both the Webb kin (sorry, a bad pun if your familiar with the webkinz stuffy toys - they are the new beanie babies apparently) and the Schrautimeier side. Katie was a bit shy which tells us that we need to visit more often.

She did enjoy playing with her cousins - especially Brogan. Another first from the trip was that Katie learned to read. She read three books to me one night and shared one (okay, more like a couple pages from one) with her cousin Brogan. Brogan wasn't nearly as impressed as her proud mommy was. (Oh, and for those sticklers in the crowd Katie does add a couple of words to the book in the video clip below: "lap" and "head" aren't part of the book.)




Aunt Trudy was so generous with Katie. She's so very pleased with her new treasures including the teddy bear in the picture above and the special top that we watched Aunt Trudy make just for her. It's straight and true and spins like a champ. Carson (and Craig) better watch out. She's going to give them some stiff competition for that champion top!

We're still trying to get back to normal - trying to get ready for the dreaded Monday work and school, put Christmas away and start thinking about birthday parties (thankfully not Katie's!), Valentine's Day and maybe, just maybe, a trip to Arizona. No rest for the weary, I'm afraid!
