Our Garden
Having been a good counter-culture Seattle-lite, I read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" this year and took it to heart. We'd always played around with a garden, but this year it was going to be different. More variety, more compost, more sustenance. It was a tough year for farms and gardens around here with the long, wet, cool Spring. But we started the seeds inside in starter pots and after they got over the shock of being put outside in 'the real world' they started to slowly grow. Well, you know how life has a way of getting in the way, right? Well, the garden fell lower and lower on 'the list' and well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here's what we harvested earlier this week. These are our cucumbers and the fuzzy pink thing in the corner is my thumb.
